I Galdera
January is about over with, Trump and Pence are gone, and Biden and Harris are the newcomers on the block, and like most people who take over from somebody else, they have to “make it their own,” and early indications are both have done just that.
Congratulations and Welcome to the Neighborhood!
I read, I did not see or know, about the events and problems surrounding inauguration and the altercations happening at the Capitol building—sad, to say the least; I couldn’t help but think my country had turned into a stereotypical “Banana Republic.”
I have before me a January 26, 2021 article by Elizabeth Janowski, NBC News, listing Biden’s Executive Orders/Actions so far. Some of them make sense, such as freezing approval of rules passed in final days of Trump’s presidency until they can be reviewed. Other actions, though, make little sense–to me–other than spite, such as canceling the Keystone XL permit, which had been vetted and approved by all required environmental and other agencies during the Obama administration, but ultimately vetoed by Obama. The permit was approved by Trum early on in his administration and I can only assume the Canadian concern building this project has already spent a considerable amount of dollars in hiring people, buying and renting equipment, and installing a portion of the pipeline.
